Thats exactly why I have just rebought a K200D. I had one as my first DSLR (though not my first SLR) and I regretted selling it almost from the first day I did so. The K5 is OK.. but I still prefer CCD output. Its also why I hang onto my Olympus XZ-1, and Ricoh GRD3

Sorry, strying way off topic

I've also been thinking about buying a K10D for that reason. They're selling for 150 and less these days, which I think is a steal for an APS-C CCD camera.

We don't get the chance to post much in people pix, so here goes, taken with the even cheaper Canon A490 of my friend, Beth. I had to raise the camera up and frame the shot on the back screen as she is 5 foot 11 and I'm a shade over 5 foot 6. We look like Boris and Natasha when we were out shooting. She has since moved back to Montana:

A wonderful casual portrait of your friend, Bill!

Perfect illustration of "it's not the gear..."

Kyteflyer and Bart, thanks, these little Canons are great packarounds and run on two AA batteries.

Nice shot. I wish Pentax/Ricoh had updated the MX-1, I was going to add one to my already burgeoning supply of cameras (IOW way too many) if it had been upgraded, but it seems that like the K-01, its gone.

Chuckwalla Love

I shot this several years ago with a cheap little Canon 430 ? 360? Something like that...I don't remember but it was a decent little 5mp point and shoot.
Near Ajo Arizona on the Gunnery Range. Chuckwallas in a rock crevice...look closely....there is Two in there.

Wow, thats amazing! Our small cameras can sure do the job, even the old ones. I should break out my old C760uz once in a while

Speaking of small old cameras, I need to get myself another Sony DSC-P200, it sells for only 20 dollars or so. It would be my third one... had one bought new in 2005 that lasted many years of abuse. Then got another a couple years ago that my son quickly destroyed (he dropped it with the lens extended, it fell on the lens).
It's a seriously good camera with a larger than usual CCD sensor (still not as large as a lot of premium compacts, but 1/1.8" with Zeiss designed optics is certainly capable of taking good pictures still...)
