Hi people. Anyone used a third party battery for the MX-1? Thoughts or opinions gratefully received.

Yes I have used the Wasabi battery from Amazon. I had no problems with it and as far as I can tell lasts as long on a charge as the original pentax battery that came with the camera.
You can also get another charger of the same brand if you desire.

Same here. No troubles with it to this point, and seems to hold a charge like the original.

Add me to the list! I love my Wasabi spare batteries. I had one for the MX-1 and just bought two more spare with the Wasabi charger for my trip to NYC coming up. The Wasabi charger is superior to the Pentax, IMO, since it's not polarized (can be mounted in the outlet "upside down"), and the prongs are built in and fold out. Compact and convenient. Also the Wasabi charger shows red while charging and green when it's done (instead of just green while charging and completely off when done). Excellent.

I tried the Watson battery, but it would not fit in the MX-1. It was the right size but the notch in the end was shaped differently. That prevented it from being inserted completely.
