I have a Pentax optio w20. What is the greatest capacity memory card the camera will support? Is there an advantage of SD over SDHC? Thanks.

If there's an SDHC badge on the camera or in the manual, the max capacity is 32Gb. If it's plain SD, then 4Gb, though it might be easier to find a 2Gb card. There's no advantage to using standard SD cards if SDHC cards are supported.

I use a 4GB in mine. Don't know what the max is but 4GB will hold more than the battery will last between charges I'd think. I do like the W20 better than some Optio water proof models that came after it. I had a W90 that would do a few more tricks but took worse photos.
