Hi, I have my Optio M20 cable attached to my laptop. My problem is I'm unable to upload photos to my computer. Are you able to help?

Does the Optio show up as a disk drive in your computer? And which computer, PC or Mac?

After plug the cable in, did you turn the camera on?
Your Optio should show up as a separate removable hard drive or disk.

Did you try restarting the laptop? Does your laptop not have a card reader?

It only stays on for a short while. Also, there used to be a green light that would come on the left above the lens.

What stays on for a short while, the camera or the computer?

Most of use a card reader for removing photos from our cameras. Do you have one of those, or does this camera not have a SD card and only internal memory?

The camera stays on for a short time. The card reader is in the computer and I have a memory card in the camera

I'm not sure what a SD reader is. Can you be more specific, please

Take the SD card out of the camera and insert it in the card reader.

As for my reference to SD I meant to add card also.

Do you see a drive there in the list of drives on you computer? Click the down arrow beside that drive/disk. Do you see a folder after doing that?

No, I do not see it in my list of drives. I've looked at it several times and I see nothing.

Then it's not actually being seen by the computer. Simplest solution would be to buy a USB card reader. Some are fairly cheap at about $10.
