There were so many good reports about the 35SP that I ended up buying one from a member of this forum. The lens gets very good comments. Like you, I have too many cameras, but then another beauty tempts me and the collection grows.

Old Retina 11A folder from the fifties. Get the picture?

Jacquot, sorry, nice snap but the GR's sensor is larger than one inch. Arnold, wow, I just bought the IIa off ebay recently, has the Xenon where yours probably has the Rodenstock Heligon lens. You must have taken this at f4 or f5.6 (?), nice detail in her hair, and good colors.

Oly 35SP had a double Gauss if memory serves, could be wrong, not getting any younger lol

The SP has a seven element lens, which would be partially responsible for it's cost. My Retina 11A has the Schneider Xenon lens. The picture was taken at closest focus possible. and yes, around f4.

Arnold, yes, 7 elements, and the black version goes for considerably more than the chrome one, same as the Canonet QL17 GIII black model. I tried bidding on both the 35SP and the Canonet in black only to see a bloodbath at the end. lol I'm hoping I get good results like yours with my IIa. One of my favorite cameras (and American-made) is the Kodak Signet 35, this shot is using Arista Premium 400 pushed to 800 using Diafine for the dev, closest focus which is 2 feet if I remember correctly. Also scanning with an $86 Epson 4490 refurb that lets the IQ down some, not bad with 120, however:

Hoping to see more street and environmental portraits, the month is still young

I love this kind of portrait with it's contemplative aspects.

Lovely. The image has a feel of not much after 1956 somehow

@Pntx, I'm sure the lovely couple would want a print, did you ask them? Fish scale pattern to the pavers, thinking this wasn't shot in Kansas...

Nice late afternoon neighborhood shot, Arnold! I loved Cairns, BTW, could die a happy man there! Unfortunately they have their standards, dammit. lol

Bart, I know what this cost you in credibility, but thanks!
