A while ago I watched a Bryan Peterson video using this technique to create a type of abstract image. He mixed water and oil together and using a macro set-up got these neat looking "little planets".

So I set-up my Olympus TG-4 on the "Microscope" setting and started shooting. It's addictive as you move the droplets around and get different colors by reflecting light off a CD. My mistake was to mix the oil and water too vigorously and creating too many small droplets.

I've included a pic of my set-up. TG-4 on a tripod and aimed over a clear dish containing the oil & water.

A first attempt, more to follow

Taken with Samsung Galaxy S5, standing on a stool and shooting down onto my table. No PP other than cropping.

I'm also glad that the light fixture at that table uses round elements, as well, so the catchlights are also round.

And that's not all of my lenses, but I was organizing things into camera bags and the idea hit me

The high perspective really highlights the round beautiful glass and reflections. A great collection to drool over, too!

Zombie Outbreak taken with Pentax Q w #01 normal lens.

Circuit taken with Pentax Q w#01 normal lens and Lensbaby +4 & +10 closeup lenses combined. ISO 125, 1/250 @ f6.3.

Round #2. Taken with my RX100 in aperture priority. I desaturated in Flickr (it didnt actually need it) and rotated/cropped in Snapseed for Android.

Unixrevolution, I would never sell the Q. Too many things it can do. Adapt some of your wild lenses to it.

I am aware of its reputation as a macro and telephoto powerhouse. I do have the K adapter

I need to be more engaged with the lil' guy.

I have an Oly EPL-1 that I love for similar reasons. That, and I keep finding nifty sub-35mm lenses to throw on it.
