Buddha J the Lumix LX2 is a very versatile P&S as the others have mentioned. The sensor itself is 16:9 in shape so it is not cropping to get this aspect ratio. It looks to be selling cheaper than the G9. If you can wait another month or so as indicated the successor to the LX2 the LX3 is going to be released in September.

These cameras have a great feature set from fully automatic to fully manual controls. The menus are easily accessible and intuitive. The joystick control gives quick access to all the settings. The LX3 has a hotshoe for accessories such as an optical viewfinder. Another major improvement for the LX3 is the addition of the filter adapter attachment. The LX2 is missing both these features.
