Can we have a ricoh/pentax model similar to the lx100?

Can we have a ricoh/pentax model similar to the lx100?

Something with similar specs would be very nice IMO.

What would be different from the Panasonic lx100?

-WR
-Pentax ergonomics menus
-Pentax/Sony sensor if they can cram one in

What would be the same/similar

-be great to be close in physical size
-zoom like lx100 or mx-1 .. not fixed like GR

Pentax mx-1 was some of these things, but smaller sensor than lx100. lx100 has bigger sensor, better dr, speed/buffer.

Apparently the market for such cameras (premium point and shoot) isn't very good at the moment. Nikon even cancelled their line of 1 inch sensor cameras.
If you want a camera like that... I would say just get the Panny.

I sold my Q7 kit last month to buy LX100. I'm happy with this choice 😊

yes ive been trying to hold out...

as its a great camera but you also wonder if Panasonic will refresh it.. or if someone else will make something similar

mind you there doesn't look to be much scope for improvement (if it is to stay the same size - which is a key attraction) .. other than making it WR and having a different sensor - sensor is already pretty good though

Sensors haven't gotten much better since the LX100 came out.
And I wouldn't expect a similar WR camera anytime soon.

The point & shoot camera market is pretty much a dying market, mainly due to the quality of camera phones (iPhone, etc.) improving so much the last few years.

I don't think so, this little and expensive cameras are amazing, not comparable with any phone.

I agree. Last year I took two of my sons to Yellowstone. Both used their cell phones as cameras. One not into digital imaging and he took a few shots and was happy with them. The other was really disappointed when he got home and tried to do some work with the images he had. They looked great on the phone. Not so great on anything else. I had offered him the use of one of my DSLR's but he had refused. Now he is looking at one of the Pentax models with pixel shift.
