Point and Shoot Competition #115 - Vacation

I was looking for a broad theme and given the time of the year, "Vacation" felt just right
Show us what makes a great vacation for you. Or what you saw on your vacation.
This can be landscapes, people, towns, street, ...
Doesn't have to be summer vacation either. If anyone likes skiing, just share your winter vacation images.

Next to the fact that this gives us a broad theme, vacation must be one of the original "Point & Shoot" applications.

Looking forward to what you all will come up with!

1. Have lots of fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1".
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras.
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above):
Mobile phones, old and new, iPods, tablets, toy cameras.
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital cameras (Fuji X100 and GR OK).
Interchangeable or fixed-lens 110film SLRs and Pentax Q.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close July 31st, 2017 at Midnight (CET).

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.

Oh my, I can't even remember the last time I went on a real vacation, must've been more than 30 years ago. But if it's ok, I'll count my Summer sheep inspection weekend trips as small vacations too

Great Falls Park, VA

These photos were taken from an overlook at Great Falls Park, VA over the 4th of July weekend. Shots are taken with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20, a wonderful little 10.1 megapixel camera.

Great to see we already have a good number of entries.
And indeed with a nice diversity of subjects.

Let's keep them coming !

About 15 years ago I travelled from Boston to Florida, meeting fellow poets whom I had met on the internet. I stayed a week in Fort Lauderdale and went boat fishing a few times. This one passed us by in great speed.

Greer Spring near Alton, Mo. Pentax Q with 01 standard lens. f4 1/160 ISO 125.

Last year's July photo vacation with 2 other photographers. It is a .9 mile hike from the parking lot. Sounds easy. Not. Down into a deep valley, then back up for return to parking lot. Lightened my standard camera load. Took K-01 with a few lenses, Sigma DP1, original Q, and tripod. The July weather was terrible at 97 degrees and humidity in the '80s. The trip back up was all uphill. Majorly uphill. Ran out of water on the return trip. There were times I half wondered if we would get back to the van. Never hiking in that kind of weather again.

It was so hot fog was coming off the water. The heat made it hard to think. Never worked harder for photos.

thanks for looking,
barondla

Nice theme full of emotions ...
I bring here a route that I did last summer for the summits of Sierra Nevada in Granada Spain with my daughter (the protagonist) and my dear Pentax Q-S1 that was his high baptism ...
In particular a route that passes through the Refuge Elorrieta (3000 m.) To Cerro Caballo (3013 m.) With some steps exposed ..
Even though it was summer with the wind the thermal sensation in some points was below zero degrees ... !!!
I hope you like it
