Hi all, lots of great entries!
I never knew that there was a point and shoot competition until balondla advertised in the Q forum. Now that I know, this is my first entry into any kind of competition whatesoever on this forum.

Pentax Q7 and 06 telephoto at 45mm f/4. Cropped considerably. This is a grizzly cub in the wild life refugee in Alaska. That cub would throw a bone into the air, then smash it mid-air, and would repeat it again and again. This was not a vacation, I was on my work trip to Alaska, but it felt like a real one.

Pentax Q7 and 03 fisheye (3.2mm f/5.6), bottom of the picture cropped out. We were driving back home from mini vacation in Portland, my wife in the driver's seat. I held my camera out of the passenger's side window as high as possible and blindly pressed shutter button. I've lived in the desert for 13 years, at first the environment was totally strange to me but these days whenever I'm surrounded by this kind of landscape I feel as if I'm coming back home.

Cellphone picture (HTC 10). I went to Griffith Observatory after my work trip to California (sorry, again no real vacation). Everybody was taking sunset pictures but this kid was the most adorable.

Meade telescope (16" iirc ) at Land Between The Lakes, Ky. USA. Pentax Q w/ 01 f1.9 at 1/8 second and ISO 125. Working shake reduction to the max! Thought this fit in nicely with the Aug. Total eclipse coming in about 20 days to the USA. This was a fun vacation.

These images are nothing special, but they're from a place that is not too well represented as a holiday destination. Or in any other context, really

I have yet to meet anybody who are aware that there is a sovereign state called São Tomé & Príncipe off the coast of West Africa. I also found a list of the least visited countries in the world, and STP was 11th with about 10,000 tourists visiting in 2015 (for comparison, North Korea had 27 times more). It was certainly interesting to go there.

Here are a few phonecam snapshots, the first one from a beach on the main island of São Tomé.



This is from our bungalow on the northern tip of Príncipe, an island with about 7,000 inhabitants.

This was indeed really difficult to choose from all the entries.
All were really good on the theme. Made me wish I was there on vacation

My choice will undoubtedly be influenced by what I personally prefer or would prefer as vacation.
