Point and Shoot Contest #121 - Technology

Theme for this contest is Technology. It is all around us and can be interpreted many ways. The good, bad, cool, ugly and beautiful side of technology. Have fun!

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1" (some exceptions below).
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above):
Mobile phones, old and new, iPods, tablets, toy cameras.
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital cameras (Fuji X100 and GR OK).
Interchangeable or fixed-lens 110film SLRs and Pentax Q.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close February 28, 2018 midnight CST.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.

Thanks for participating,
barondla

The inside of the water cooled computer we once had. It was granted only a rather short life due to leaking (who would've thought LOL). Its blue colors - when active - were beautiful though.

Thanks John, I work there. I went inside the vacuum chamber (when it was not under vacuum ) during installation.

Very cool, Alayos92, there's something very satisfying about heavy steel structure, I don't know if it's the texture or what, but there's something. And your so-called "Toy" lens (sounds like a misnomer by PENTAX to me) is doing an awesome job on Q-S1.

Oh wow, I'd love to see that LIGO center in person. You are luck to work there assuming you are not too close the the nuke material at Hanford.

When you happen to come nearby, I'll be happy to give you a personal tour of the site and the control room. You can also attend the public tour the second Saturday of each month.

As for nuclear thing, we need to pay attention just in case something bad happens over there (we're maybe 7 or 8 miles away), but I don't remember seeing anything abnormal in the past 14 years at our site.

Superb entries everyone. Been looking, thinking, and relooking at the images all day. Hard to decide. After considerable reflection decided this month's winning entry is the LIGO mirror by kwb. Loved that it showed cutting edge technlogy that few people have seen. It was also great that a camera was used at work to record such a specialized piece of tech.

Thanks to everyone for entering such creative images. Congratulations to kwb. Time to set up contest #122. Looking forward to the next contest.
Thanks,
barondla
