I don't have a snowball's chance, but want to make sure what cams are allowed.
No SLR/DSLR so any rangefinder, 35mm or medium format, would be allowed as well
as all the point and shoot digital and 35mm film cams?

No Bill 35mm, rangefinders, or medium format are not included in this contest. I don't think in any stretch of the imagination you could include those cameras as a POINT AND SHOOT camera. Anyone else is free to correct me as always.

You're right LaRee, sorry for being tedious. I think I detect a censorious glance in
your avatar...

Brand new at this

I hope you don't mind my joining in. I'm brand new at P&S cameras: just got it last Friday, August 29th.

All photos were taken with Panasonic FX500.

Point and Shoot Contest #11

Aggie Fair time here in the North East... Here's a detail from the oxen pull. Took most of my shots this day with a '62 Pentax SV SLR, but this I caught with the Fuji FinePix S5100. The ox on the left side is really putting some effort in. Not the greatest frame, but I don't have all that much more at this point.

Here's my first one, my Maine Coon cat, Rainsford, taken with a Canon G2:

Here is the real funny part about my avatar photo...
My 8 year old son asked if he could take a photo of me. He then proceeded to pose me like I am in this shot and snapped this. When my sister and I saw the photo we were amazed. It was like the look OUR mother used to give us often. Since I look like a clone of my mom, it was really eerie. I guess my youngest son knows this look too.

Last entry with the Sony DSC-W50.

At the farmer's market again.

This is the camera that convinced me to buy a K100D. The shutter lag is horrendous, I have tons of blurry pics of my three year old. It takes pretty good outdoor, and handheld macro pictures though.

LaRee, very amusing story and I think your youngest son shows great promise in
becoming a great photographer like his mom!

Here's my two to complete the entry:

Both with the Canon G2, first one taken at Huntsville's Botanical Garden and the
second shot was taken holding the cam in one hand and a flash over the tank (via
TTL flash cord) in the other. These are two Betta coccina males going at it over a
girl, of course! They can certainly put on some displays and it's always a mad
dash to try and photograph them.

Your eight-year old took your avatar shot!? Wow, the boy has talent! Honestly, though, the shot shows a tremendous amount of character.

Steve

(No avatar picture...should probably look around for an eight-year old...)
