My son took me out to a country farm cafe with an early 1900s theme. The cafe was a converted barn with mid-1950s (and earlier) radio sets, furniture, photos, lawn mowers you name it. A garage featured vintage cars, and this was parked outside.

It was certainly a "Blast from the past"! Seeing it in the flesh - ie, in the metal - was a wonder.

Looking For Clues

My final submission is from the Conifer Garden at Smith-Gilbert Gardens:
"The signs located by many of the plants give the botanical name and the year in which the plant was installed in the Garden. This gives an interested gardener an idea of form and growth rates for that particular specimen."
Taken with an Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 (1/2.3") f3.5 @ 1/50 ISO 50.

According to my notes, it was processed with DxO Optics Pro and Perfect Photo Suite.

The ST6000 was small, shockproof, and waterproof. For a long time, it was my carry everywhere camera. The ST6000 has since been replaced with an Olympus Tough TG-4.

When not carrying a DSLR, the TG-4 or the Panasonic LX-7 are usually on my person: a point-and-shoot rather than a phone works better for me.

My entry #2 is a stitch I made recently out of two shots taken in 2011. Casio Exilim EX-S600.

Dry Falls Lake, WA, USA 2011/Jun/25 by k kwb, on Flickr
I took the two shots specifically to make a panorama stitch, but I wasn't happy with the result at the time. I tried it again last month and was happy to know that stitching algorithm has come a long way.
