I was wondering whether anyone here has some info about sales numbers so far?

I'm not surprised. I bought my first Pentax camera (S1A) in 1968, then my second (ES ll) in '74 and I recall those years. Pentax seemed to absolutely dominate the market, but cameras.... such as the Canon AE1, Nikon EM...appealing consumer cameras started to come out in the '70's and things started to change. Later on cameras such as the Minolta 7000 came out and the battle was on.

Sales are continuing to rise. I just purchased my GR III last week. Only had it a few days, so still getting used to it but I have to say so far I've been impressed.

I didnt see any aggregated numbers but comments are very positive sales wise.
