Point and Shoot Competition #146 - a Closer Look

The theme and subject for this month's Point & Shoot Competition is....taking a CLOSER look - and a CLOSER view - at things.
Sometimes we go through our daily routines without ever noticing details which may be right under our noses - but which can contain all kinds of interesting elements or contacts. It could be a close view of an insect visiting your garden - or of your dog's nose - it could be something you never really looked twice at, but when you slow down and take the time to really see it, you notice things. And compact cameras, with their smaller sensors, often (but not always) have the capacity to focus closer or allow us to get closer to our subjects. But really - any interpretation of "Closer" will be great for this Competition.

Rules are the same as last month:

Always have fun!

Cameras:
ALL CAMERA BRANDS ARE ALLOWED.
Camera should be compact, and let's say fit in a pocket of some garment you own or have owned at some time, and some pockets are bigger than others! I'm not getting out a tape measure...
Digital cameras with sensors smaller than or equal to 1" are allowed. However, for interchangeable lens cameras, no "adopted" lenses are allowed.
All non-interchangeable lens cameras regardless of the sensor size and medium (digital or film) are allowed.
Interchangeable lens cameras with sensors larger than 1" are not allowed regardless of the size.
Mobile phones, tablets and any 110 film cameras are allowed regardless of the size.
Entries will close on May 31, 2020 midnight PDT.
Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.
List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.
No restrictions on when the entries were taken.
Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.
Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.

Most of all, have a good time with it!

I'm attaching two samples of some of my own 'Closer Views' here (both taken with my tiny Ricoh GRDiii camera - one of some tiny plastic Japanese (Godzilla) toys which sit on top one of my bookcases - and the other of an 'Artistic Candle' - which features a stylized portrait of the eccentric artist Salvador Dali - which is on my living room table.

I have to say, already - an interesting and varied selection of different interpretations of this 'Closer Look' theme! Please keep your entries coming - and don't forget, you have the option to enter up to three images (and, additionally, are allowed to 'change' them - which I believe means to change your mind about which ones you wish to be your 'official' entries).

It really never ceases to amaze me....how much one can 'see'....when one alters one's normal 'perspective'

Amazing how decay often translates into great images.

Great sense of humor of the owner, Bill!
Beautifully captured. Looks like remarkable woodwork.

That's luxury alright!

For that money, you can get a fine house over here

I guess it's as with buying a Rolls Roys "If one has to ask for the price, this car is not for you"

What is really interesting to me, so far, looking again at all the entries - is the variety of textures, and colors, and forms - which are contained within - and the subject of - so many entries, so far. It is going to be difficult to make a final decision.

But, that said - please keep your entries coming! I can't wait to see (and be surprised by) even more "closer looks"

This is some surprisingly pretty shelf fungus, on a dead branch of a plum tree in our yard. Snapped with my Samsung Galaxy S9, a bit of tweaking in iPad Photos to boost contrast back to eyeball levels...
