Sony RX0. The camera has a fixed aperture at f4. Will update shutter speeds an ISO later.

Another Sony RX0 shot.

Great entries already!

Cipher, I think they've had it with posing
Looks all too familiar.

gbl, beautiful b&w and the never-ending road looks really inviting.

I'll take 3 from our last vacation in France, Brittany.
We cancelled this year vacation but the images from Brittany are still to be culled and processed anyway

Little village on the coast, Bénodet.

We did a quick mini-vacation road trip this past weekend, driving around the Olympic Peninsula. Spent the first night at the beach and Mother Nature cooperated enough to let us see the sun a bit. Second day we stopped for a walk in the Hoh River Valley rain forest, the wettest place in the continental USA. It lived up to its reputation and showed us why it has such verdant greenery! Snapped on Galaxy S9 phone.

Great entries everyone!

Mine were taken in my evening walks in my neighborhood. The first one shows beavers' work shot with google pixel 3 in panorama mode. At some point people put protective steel guard fence around each of the remaining trees. I have no idea how beavers could bypass those, but somehow they always outsmart people.

The second one is Pentax Q7 with 06 telephoto at 33mm, f/4, ISO 100, 1/800 sec.

Impressive how that is hanging on and even thriving!

Making the most of the sometimes inevitable power line pylons. Great b&w!

Whew, tough contest to judge. All the entries are excellent. Have looking over them numerous times I award 3rd place to Titia's "Persistence". Like the way a simple situation is expertly transformed into a great subject.

I agonized over 1st and 2nd place winners. The decisive moment people shot vs B&W geometrical perfection. Arghh, it was tough. Finally decided.

2nd place goes to Cipher and his photo of two women. Their joy is beautifully captured. This required split second timing to capture the eye looking at the other person.

1st place goes to gbl and the amazing B&W image of the Calgary National Music Center. This looks like a MC Escher painting. Even has a person to add mystery and scale. Superb image.

Thanks to everyone for entering. It was fun to see a few of your favorite photos. Now it's time for gbl to set up and run the next contest.

Thanks,
barondla
