Point and Shoot Competition #153 - Merry Christmas and/or Happy New Year card

I changed my mind for the December competition. Though covid 19 is very much part of our daily life, I thought it might be a bit too depressing and that's not what we need this time of year. We need some fun. So this is what I want to see:

Take a photo or part of it and change it into a Merry Christmas and/or Happy New Year card (with text).

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

Compact cameras
Sensor size does not matter.
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, Ricoh GR, any 110 film, 35mm point and shoots from the 1980s/90s (e.g. Pentax PC35AF etc.)
Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close December31 2020 midnight PST

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the closing date/time.

Have fun!

I'm in the habit of creating a Christmas & New Year "card" each year for family, friends and colleagues since many years so, I started with an image file from my Panasonic FX500 this year.
Two birds with one stone

Panasonic FX500, 4.4mm (26mm equivallent), 1/30 at f/2.8, ISO125

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from my wife and me

Nikon AW130. This really does look like a cheesy postcard.

I think Christmas decorations and cards are allowed to be a bit over the top

Combining two pictures, I didn't adhere to the rules strictly, but anyway here's mine.
Japanese zodiac (which came from Chinese zodiac, somehow it's called zodiac in Western countries though it doesn't have anything to do with astrology) is quite often the theme of new year cards in Japan. This year was the year of rat, next year it will be ox. Porcupine isn't rat but it's still rodent, I call that close enough.

Both were shot with Pentax Q7 and Q 06 telephoto zoom. Bison calves were at Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center if I remember correctly. 44.3mm, f/4, 1/500 sec and ISO 100. Porcupine was found at my work place: 29mm, f/2.8, ISO 400 and 1/6 sec(!).

Ok, sorry I haven't been around. Too much was going on here in real life that I had to pay attention to. Nothing really serious though except that I heard last week that corona has been diagnosed with two habitants in the nursing home one of my older sisters lives in. They've all been tested now and I'm still waiting for the results of her test.

Apparently Christmas and New Year cards are not really everybody's favorites I see . Thanks to those who participated anyway.

I love them all, but one card made me laugh because it trickered all kinds of associations in my mind, even to what's happening in the US right now (the denial).

Therefor the Winner of this competition is KWB. Congratulations!

And to all of you Happy New Year. One of the things I had to do in the last weeks (on my own because hubby has a pulled tendon in his femure) was moving all my sheep to another meadow. It took 3 rides in my little Piaggio Porter Van.

Congratulations, kwb! Well deserved.

Seems you had your hands full, Titia!
Best of luck for your sister and a speedy recovery for your husband.
And of course all the best for 2021 to you and everyone here as well!

Sorry Titia to hear about your family members, I hope everything will be OK in the end.

Your picture of sheep in a Japanese mini (as in really tiny) van is cool. I've never seen any of these (extremely useful and economical) cars in USA nor in Europe, so your mention of Daihatsu was a surprise. Using it for hauling sheep was doubly interesting.

Thank you very much for choosing my entry, this was truly a surprise for me but it's great if this made you laugh.

Thank you Titia, thank you all, I'll post the next competition by the end of the day (in US Pacific time)!
