Collectible or No?!

Hi there!

New to this forum and have a question regarding a Pentax point and shoot that's recently come into my possession.

it's a white Pentax 'Domino' in what I would say in near mint condition (pics attached).

Functions are basic and it looks like a cross between a Pentax Pino 35M and a Praktica Sport MD-2 tbh, but I have never come across one before.

Could anyone be so kind as to tell me anything about them - or point me in the right direction please!?

Also, wondering if the lack of info / availability makes them rare or collectible in some way?

Thanks in advance!!

I know nothing about them, but it sure is cool looking, and I can see how it earned it's name.

I would say no as I dont think that is a camera really made by Pentax. Closest ones in looks to that one is the PC series cameras.

Beautiful camera!
That is essentially a Pentax Pino 35 Model S from the late 80's (~87-89)
Maybe a special edition or limited run. Never seen that before. It looks factory, not a custom. If it is a custom is is one heck of a job.
Surprised to see white plastic in such great shape.

Thanks,

Certainly collectable. Valuable? No idea, but I'd hang on to it!

I, as well as many I am sure, would like to have it in their collection, just for the beauty, not necessarily the value.

Thank you so much for the responses!

Yes it is indeed an awesome looking little camera

I actually managed to find another reference to it from a thread in this forum back in 2015!

Poll: are you a Pentax film camera collector? - Page 7 - PentaxForums.com

So looks like it definitely could be collectible even if not overly valuable - but I'm really pleased to have found it in such great condition either way!

Thanks again all

Very cool. I would keep it and display it with other things I find collectable. Makes a great conversation piece on a shelf

Pretty sure that camera was used by Imperial troopers in Star Wars.
