Point and Shoot competition #155 - glad to have my p&s

Let's keep this one as broad as possible.
There's a reason we use a P&S, readily available, easy, light, fast - like the classification says: (see), point and shoot.

So, showcase some of the images that made you glad you had a point and shoot available.
a funny moment, a lovely scene, a remarkable object, some wonderful light, the list goes on and on.

Looking forward to your entries!

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1"
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, any 110 film.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close February 28th, 2021 midnight CDT.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.

Have fun!

OK let me start this time.

Where I live, the temperature regularly goes above 100F (38-ish C) in summer, higher if you're on asphalt or desert, and walking during daytime for a long time is a dangerous activity. I guess it's even harder for small animals as they're much closer to the ground. Anyway, one day I walked out of a building and saw this guy using my car as a shade. I only had my cellphone with me, but I was glad I did even though the picture quality wasn't great! Shot with Nokia N8.

Here is a sequence shot with a Q-7 and a Cosmicar 50mm f1.4 lens @f2, 1/50, ISO 800 (cropped):

JFDR, Iceland Airwaves, 2018

A great little combo to have in your jacket pocket for concerts!

Taken on a quick day flight to Canberra and back in Feb last year with the then recently arrived Ricoh WG-6. Wouldn't have been interested in the attention and explanations a dslr may have entailed, this did fit in my pocket, and my bag was full;

My Ricoh GRii - tiny pocketable camera, wonderful landscape tool

My tiny Ricoh GRii is super small - and so 'pocketable' that I find myself taking it with me, everywhere.
Which allows me, probably, to get pictures that I wouldn't have been able to, otherwise.

The first - a view looking south towards Mt. Shasta - from Mt. Ashland, on the Oregon side of the Oregon-California border, was taken when I went up to the mountain to go skiing for a few hours - but the Ricoh was small enough to put into a pocket.

The second was taken while walking up the small country road near my house, also in southern Oregon, looking towards the Cascades mountain range which run alongside the Rogue Valley where I live.

It's a tiny camera...but it always seems to take BIG pictures

During a trip to Jordan we went to Wadi Rum, with its fantastic landscapes. A sandstorm hit and made it pretty much impossible to photograph with my other cameras. I was glad I had a point and shoot, a weatherproof Olympus TG-4. It definitely saved the day!

While walking the dog I accidentally snapped this one with my phone. Turned out to be a keeper Samsung S6. By the way, great images everyone!

Just loved this shot from camping last summer. I can't remember if it was before or after I purchased a new phone. Either way it was a Samsung S9 or S20, at Crane Prairie reservoir.
