Huawei P20 Pro

In terms of mobile photography, I just love how simple panoramas are. Change the camera mode and follow the screen guide and you're good to go .I was quite interested in this phone when it came out as it had a large 1/1.7" sensor. Unfortunately since it is a panorama I had to break the resolution rule slightly, or else the height would have been too small.

When I took this, I only brought my telephoto lens, so this is essentially an impossible capture if I did not bring my phone with me.

Love my point n shoot for shots like this. Only had seconds to capture this before the warning sign disappeared.

Pentax Q7 with Pentax #01 normal lens.

Thanks for looking,

Perfect timing (gentlemen, your car and you ).

My tiny Ricoh GRii is super small - and so 'pocketable' that I find myself taking it with me, everywhere.
Which allows me, probably, to get pictures that I wouldn't have been able to, otherwise.

The first - a view looking south towards Mt. Shasta - from Mt. Ashland, on the Oregon side of the Oregon-California border, was taken when I went up to the mountain to go skiing for a few hours - but the Ricoh was small enough to put into a pocket.

The second was taken while walking up the small country road near my house, also in southern Oregon, looking towards the Cascades mountain range which run alongside the Rogue Valley where I live.

It's a tiny camera...but it always seems to take BIG pictures
Love that spot.

Dogs can be hard to capture, especially when you have one who loves to come investigate the camera. So a phone shot is nice to get!

Taz (our old boy on the right) and Bandit the energetic youngster. And Banditin his favorite spot lately...

That's it, folks.
The contest is closed.

Thanks for all these enjoyable entries, everyone!
Now comes the hard part for me.
I'll do my best to come back with the results as soon as possible.

As I expected, this was really difficult.

Then I realised I should take the theme as a guideline going through the entries.
Not just asking myself which one I liked best but adding the consideration which ones were profiting most of having a point and shoot available.
A personal approach of course, guided by my idea wether or not I would have only a p&s in the situation.
OK. In the end "there can only be one"

As runners up - or 2nd place ex aequo if you prefer, I have barondla and kwb for seeing and shooting. Such reactions are something I can only dream of

For me the winner is Sam-I-am.
My kind of scene but I wouldn't dream of bringing a camera other than my old p&s.

Many thanks again to all those that participated!

It's up to you now, Sam, to set up the next instalment of the Point and Shoot competition.
Looking forward to what you'll come up with.

WoW !

With all the great pics, I am humbled that you chose mine. I feel that we are all winners each and every month.

Oh, and I kept my phone zipped into the tackle box when not in use, which was tied to the boat, and the phone is water proof. So let her capsize. 😅

Congrats to Sam_I_am for a seriously cool image.
Nicely judged, too, Bart!
And I have to give an extra shout-out to Dukeatoakland for the amazing shot of the UFO cloud over Mt. Shasta.

Looking forwards to seeing what you have in store for us, Sam_I_am!
