Point and shoot competition #156 - Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Boats

I have always been interested in all of the above and am in awe of those who capture a unique shot of a complete vehicle, or a part of one. So post your pics and enjoy the month. I will pick the winner at the end of the month and notify them that "tag, your it".

Oh, and I copied and pasted a previous month's rules.

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

Compact cameras
Sensor size does not matter.
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No cameras weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, Ricoh GR, any 110 film, 35mm point and shoots from the 1980s/90s (e.g. Pentax PC35AF etc.)
Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close March 31 2021 midnight PST

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the closing date/time.

My first entry is an automobile - a very very old Studebaker with a bit of a story behind it. It has been sitting, for some years, quietly rusting, just off the main street that runs through the small town where I live, Talent, Oregon. Several months ago, a freak wildfire, fueled by dangerous winds, flared up and burned its way both through portions of my town and also the neighboring one. The entire area of the street where this old Studebaker had been parked was transformed into apocalyptic rubble, and ashes, literally. But in the midst of it all, somehow this car survived. It was already a non-operational dinosaur - but now it has become a survivor.

Thanks - they sure don't make em like that anymore

@chubasco - cool shot of the old Nash Metro! An old girlfriend used to drive a "bumblebee" yellow/black model.

paulh, thanks! I remember these when new in the 50s, early 60s, they seem to be a favorite of female teachers and librarians. Cute little cars...

While getting gas in the spouse’s truck one day, this guy pulled in next to us. One guy fiddled with the trailer hitch to adjust something or other, and the second guy started fueling up the boat. On querying how much it took, laughed and said “A *LOT*”... Snapped a pic with my phone, just because she’s a beauty. Samsung Galaxy S9.

A pickle fork. That must be a handful at full throttle, but well worth changing your shorts for after that ride.

Thank you. If I had a £/$ for every time I've photographed that little boat over the past 5 years, I could afford to buy a new camera
