Point and Shoot competition #162 - Something new

Apologies for being a bit late with this subject. I'd been away from my computer for about a week on holiday.

When I realised that I had to choose the subject for the next competition, I had a really clever and specific subject in mind but then I figured that although a "clever and specific" subject can be fun, it can sometimes limit the number of entries received. So I've decided to keep this one simple.

Your entry must be a photo that you have shot between now (4th September) and the end of the competition (30th September). Its that simple. Your photo can be of anything you like as long as its not something you shot prior to 4th September. I don't want to see anything from your back catalogue. I won't be checking the EXIF's of all the photos.... I'll trust you all to submit new photographs. I would encourage everyone to submit the maximum of 3 entries per person. Get out there and shoot something. I'll choose the photo I like the most regardless of the genre. Good luck everyone.

As for rules, the same as last month:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

Compact cameras
Sensor size does not matter.
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No cameras weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, Ricoh GR, any 110 film, 35mm point and shoots from the 1980s/90s (e.g. Pentax PC35AF etc.)
Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close September 30 2021 midnight GMT

4. Maximum biggest image dimension: 1800 pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the closing date/time.

Nice. Particularly like the last shot and the two guys looking out of the kitchen.

Oh.... welcome to Pentax Forums.

Nice b&w shots there! Mine isn’t anything epic, just our pups with a fun expression and posed the same way for a change. Does the little one being only 7 months old count as new?

Snapped from my Samsung Galaxy S9.

Pentax Q7 with #04 Toy Wideangle. The Toy makes a great macro lens! Taken a few days ago. Now the cold weather is on the way.

Thanks for looking,
barondla

Here are mine, all shot with Pentax Q7.

First one: Mountain behind heavy smoke and light sprinkle of rain. Q 02 Standard Zoom at 11.2mm, f/5.6, 1/400s, ISO 200. This is a pano stitch.

2nd one: Fresh coal tar is reflecting the morning sun light. Q 01 Standard Prime (8.5mm), f/2.8, 1/2000s, ISO 200.

3rd one:This papecraft pentaprism didn't quite work for 2021 Pentax Forums T-shirt Contest, but I took pictures anyway as a record. Q 06 Tele Zoom at 44.7mm, f/2.8, 1/6s, ISO 200.

I really like the way the craft knife turned out in that last one. A splash of color to contrast with the monochromatic expanses.

Thanks to everyone who took part but the competition is now closed. There were some very nice shots but I've decided that my winner is........ drumroll...... Dr Bob with his cafe/diner shot.

I have seen sharper images but I just loved the "capture the moment" aspect of this photo. Well done Dr Bob and thanks to everyone else who entered.

Over to you Dr Bob for the next subject.

In the event that Dr Bob doesn't appear in the next couple of days, I'll announce the runner up photo for the purposes of having someone to set the next competition. If that's ok with everyone?
