And the winner is…

(dramatic pause)

Titia's apartment building wall!

It looks like a street art mural; turned a mundane scene into something really interesting.

Runner up is barondia's Venus fly-trap abstraction. I can't believe you did that in camera!

Lots of good entries, it was a real treat to see all the different approaches, Once again it proved that small sensors are not a limit to one's imagination.

Congrats Titia, congrats barondla, well deserved!!

Cipher, thank you very much, this was a great competition to see different approaches to go One Step Beyond.

(Vendee, your analog "processing" was refreshing and interesting to me!)

Thank you. To be honest, double exposure is a fairly simple form of analogue manipulation. The real magic is done in the darkroom and my own darkroom skills are pretty basic compared to the darkroom printers of the 50's/60's/70's. A lot of us think that those classic b&w prints from yesteryear just came straight out of camera but this article
Marked Up Photographs Show How Iconic Prints Were Edited in the Darkroom | PetaPixel
shows how much skill went in to getting the perfect photograph.

Congratulations to Titia. Your winning image is a very cool. Thanks to Cipher for mentioning my photo and running a great contest. This was a great theme and had a special vibe to it.

Yes, my processing was done in camera, on the Q7. Pentax cameras have amazing special effects processing capabilities. I wish Pentax would make it better known. The thin filter alone would sell them a lot of cameras, if they'd only show it in action.

Thanks,
barondla
