Point & Shoot contest #179 "Movie Titles"

The subject of this months contest is "Movie Titles"
The subject of your photo should represent the title of a movie. not the plot or theme of the movie but the actual title. Please make sure to state the name of the movie that your photo represents although hopefully we should be able to work it out by looking at it. Example below (not shot on a compact)..... good luck, only 28 days in this month

Midnight in Paris

Rules:

1. Always have fun!

2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1" (some exceptions below).
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras (some exceptions below).
No (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted:
Mobile phones, tablets, small sensor toy cameras.
Pentax Q, Nikon 1, Ricoh GR, any 110 film, 35mm point and shoots from the 1980s/90s (e.g. Pentax PC35AF etc.)
Cameras you can take with you in a coat pocket.

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close February 28th 2023, midnight GMT.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.

5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.

7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest ending.

Yes nice idea. I like it. Some suggestions for changes in the language of the rules:

It is the 21st century. The old, obsolete metric system with its ambiguity between weight and mass was resolved a long time ago with the current and offical SI Metric System that has separate units for weight and mass instead of calling them the same thing.

No (D)SLRs or any camera weighing having a mass over 1kg.

The second of time has been defined atomically for a long time too (in lieu of astronomically). And as a result new time scales were introduced that are derived from International Atomic Time. So time on the prime meridian is now Coordinated Universal Time.

3. Entries will close February 28th 2023, midnight GMT UTC.

All this confusion. This is why I stand steadfastly by the good ol Imperial system.

There is no confusion about weight vs mass in the SI system. Mass is a fundamental unit.

Clearly weight and mass are different and yet the actual impact to the understanding of the rules is unchanged. The same goes for GMT. Future instances of something like this are best handled in private messages allowing the original poster to decide if they want to implement the changes quietly. The polite thing is to not call out publicly errors that have no real impact. I’ve been guilty of it myself and I’m doing it now to a degree. When an error is something that could cause someone harm - perhaps bad advice before a wedding job - then posting quickly is important. Otherwise the behind the scenes approach is friendlier.

“Less yapping, more snapping.” That’s a motto I need to stick to myself more often. Lol.

I'm sorry but for as long as I've been following this competition, the person setting it has used the time zone that they are in themselves. It seems to work and I'm not sure there is any reason to change it.

Where are the images!?!? Lol. I keep thinking of ideas but I haven’t made any to fit this theme yet.

Sorry guys. I didn't mean to stir everyone up. Since the rules are cut-n-pasted I thought to help make them more accurate for the next person. I think this kind of correction is a good thing. It is educational. How many people who read it did not know gram/kilogram is not a unit of weight or force today and haven't been for a long time?

Vendee, GMT is a time scale. UTC replaced it. UTC and GMT are not the exact same time. The second in GMT is derived astronomically and time broadcast stations broadcast time in an atomic time scale, UTC (since 1971 for some stations). But of course most people are more familiar with Greenwich Mean Time and think of it as a location on Earth rather than the time at a location on Earth, the prime meridian (zero degrees longitude).

Pink Floyd - The Wall. A real film based on the famous Pink Floyd concept album. It is not a concert film. Staring Bob Geldof, as Pink, and directed by Alan Parker. Not my most original idea .

Pentax original Q with #01 standard lens. The #01 has major distortion that the Pentax software has to correct to get lines this straight.

Thanks for looking,
barondla

I found a much more interesting wall today. Unfortunately, only had the Pentax 645Z and K-1 along.
Thanks,
barondla

Very nice. When judging, I'll try to ignore that "In Bruges" is one of my favourite films and that after watching it back in 2009, we subsequently spent 2 very enjoyable vacations "In Bruges".
