Taken with my kodak v803, its the worst camera I've ever used, but as much as I hate it, I can't bring myself to replace it...

If you want a really bad Kodak, you need a Kodak 35 RF. They take nice enough pictures, but man-oh-man are they oddballs to use.

Ok, here is one in black and white using my new Panasonic Lumix TZ5. I converted to BW using Picassa and straightened the lines a little since it was shot at widest angle and there was some lean in. It's not perfect, but it's a shot....I took this on Sunday January 18, when I was out walking the dogs. The shot is of the Acropolis in Athens, taken from the eastern wall, looking up from the Lysikratos monument (on right).

Here's my three, the first two are from a Sony DSC-V1 that was stolen out of my
house last Saturday, have another Sony on the way next week sometime.

Inner city Huntsville, AL, Indian Creek Canal:

Rummaging around in one of my storerooms using an offcamera flash, the Viv
285HV via cable and hotshoe adapter, BW conversion using the Virtual Photographer plugin for PS:

and the last one is using a Voigtlander Bessa-L with Heliar 15 superwide, makes
it a point and shoot if shooting anything 15 feet away. Pic was taken at f11 and
1/8sec shutter speed, cheap Walgreens 400 film and conversion done using the Andy plugin in Bibble:

Japanese Tea House, Monte Sano State Park

Negative was scanned at 2400dpi, Epson 4490

Some seriously good shots in here - testament to it being the photographer more than the camera

Here are my three, all shot with my Canon Powershot A540 in Barcelona, all editing in CS2:

Barcelona Grocer (heavy perspective transformation due to perspective distortion, plus some saturation boost)

Spanish Guitar (just basic curves, dodge/burn)

Parc de la Ciutadella (basic curves, etc, plus cloned out a distracting motorcyclist)

Three from me

My sister and her husband gave me a tour of the San Diego bay on their boat. I hadn't been out with them yet. Mostly they go fishing on their boat. The new fishing laws here require EVERYONE on board to have a fishing license if their is gear on board. So now they can't even bring a non-licensed guest out with them when they fish. Stupid if you ask me. The rule used to be, a license for every pole in the water. I don't know what was wrong with THAT law to make it change!
Anyway, here are my contributions from that outing a couple weeks ago.

My brother in law and his friend with their snacks behind them.

This one cracked me up. It seems somewhat surreal.

All taken with the Panasonic FZ30. I was having trouble figuring out what lens I wanted to take out on the water. I didn't really want to deal with the big heavy bigma, but I knew I may want the reach. That is when my sister suggested taking two cameras. Brilliant idea! I had the k10d and the tamron 18-250 mounted and the FZ30. It was easier juggling those two than it would have been juggling the bigma on the boat.

There were a lot of great shots. I thought about it for a while and have decided on the top three. Here goes:

Third place - skeuos
Nice bright colors, nicely framed. Makes me want to be there.

Second place - LaRee
Nice framing and deep blue color does it for me.

Winner - Mike Cash
I'm a sucker for night photography. Nice B&W. - I like it. Nicely done.

Mike, you are up for the next P&S challenge.

Congratulations to the winners!

@skeuos, I very much like your 3rd picture, very Cartier-Bresson, nice work! I've
never been to Spain, but would love to see such colors.

@LaRee, your pic of the channel brings back memories where a friend and I used
to rent a 24 foot cabin cruiser from MCRD. Back in '83-'84 you could rent the boat

all day for $25 plus whatever gas you used. We weren't supposed to take the boat
past the Coronado Bridge, but of course we broke that regulation quite a few times!

@Mike, great shot, never had the chance to see this view, but spent 7 years in Japan
and am very fond of the country! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats, Mike! Great shot. My vote was going for LaRee - I lived in San Diego for 5 years, but that's just about the best shot of the Coronado bridge that I've seen. Very well done!

Thanks for the nod, Frank!
