Looks interesting. I'm mulling over the thought of picking up a couple for the wife and I for our kayaking.

I love my W60, but I may have to get one of these! I like the impact resistance.

I'm thinking the waterproofing will be good protection against baby poop.

Just noticed that on Ned's blog the other day, and checked it out a little,

I'll have to keep an eye on that one for someone special. Looks like it could be just the thing.

Geez these guys are frustrating. They produce a camera that on the face of it looks great. Decent zoom range, good video, waterproof and tough. Plus it's small enough for most shooters. Heck I might buy one just for the video and to try some stuff in the ocean.

But does anyone know it exists? Do they advertise a great product anywhere?

Arrrrrg.

I just saw an ad a couple of days ago, can't even remember where, I guess it was an internet ad, or even DP Reviews.

Anyway, I'm going to pick up one for the family, kids do a lot of swimming and will be great to take underwater shots.

Anyone seen them available anywhere?

that does it for me ... if they won't do a red DSLR then one of these will have to do

Waterproof and pocketable ... sounds great for always having a camera with you

Hey if you just gott'a have a red dslr, get a panny G1. It's almost dslr. My daughter-in-law has one. I used it for a few days and its great on a tripod (swing and twist monitor). I liked it, except I was a bit concerned about it's "thrash-about" outdoor durability.

Close focusing, Super Macro mode brings out the details in even the smallest subjects as close as 1 cm.

Now that I like! I wonder if I can call it a business expense.....................

Also, tentative release date is mid to late July.

(Colors it comes in are Gunmetal Gray, Azure Blue & Cardinal Red)

The W80 is one stellar performer

I am currently using the W80 and I have to say that it is one stellar performer, by far the best pentax optio W camera ever made, and perhaps the best Waterproof point and shoot by any maker.

the AF in low light is now assisted with an orange focus assist lamp, cleaner and less noise at higher ISO, in the past i never went above 400 in point and shoot.

Image algorithms are greatly improved! from bright sunlit to lowlight indoors this camera has truly been overhauled for the best specs and performance

the HD video feature is now 720p at 30FPS

I will put a mini review and test photos with video over at my blog.

happy shooting!
