Point & Shoot Contest #21 - "How I Spent My Summer Vacation"

Hopefully no one will object to me setting this one up.

Bart, our second place winner from the last contest, is my inspiration for this round. I trust he'll see it before he heads out on his trip.

As it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere contestants there can enter either winter or summer vacation pictures.

I'm looking to be impressed with people, places and events while you were on a vacation.

The rules:
Rules of entry

1. ANY camera other than a slr/dslr is eligble.
2. Entries will end on Sunday August 9 20:00 EST. (-5:00 GMT)
3. Maximum image dimensions are 800 X 800 pixels.
4. List camera BRAND, MODEL, and FORUM NAME with entry for all to see.
5. The theme is "How I spent my summer vacation"
6. Maximum of 3 photos per photographer.
7. Post processing is fine.
8. Winner will set up and judge next contest.
9. Remember to have FUN!

This was certainly a nice vacation for me. Horseback riding while staying on a ranch in Idaho.

Eh no, I didn't see it before I left.
I didn't take that many pictures with the P&S on the trip but I hope I can come up with something. Anyway, my vacation isn't over yet: back to work on the 27th.
And another week coming up in August (32 days per year ).

A 200D isn't a point 'n' shoot camera.

Well, you asked

I don't know if I can impress you but I had a fine vacation in France.
Region of Limousin, department of Corrèze, in the village with the same name.
This is a region with some history. It was on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella (northern Spain).
Now it is mostly a rural area where you can take great hikes. Food is great too .

I find it always rewarding to visit those old churches you find just about everywhere in Europe. Even the most humble ones can have something of interest. This was in Flanders, Belgium. First time I tried some "high" ISO (400) with this camera.

All taken with Panasonic FX500.

These pictures were taken nearly 6 years ago on a beautiful beach (and evening) in Normandy, France. Camera is one of my first P&S's, a Kodak DC4800. Stupidly enough, at the time I thought having the date and time on a picture was quite a nice feature.

This year I did bring my K10D (which does not qualify as point and shoot ) with me for my vacation, so I took the liberty to post one from 2006, using a Nikon L4 (4 Mpix). We did sailing as most years anyhow so the subject would be similar, only the "captain" in the picture is now slightly older.
