How about, the inside passage, heading to, and looking at, Sawyer Glacier in Alaska?
This was aboard the Norwegian Star, Norwegian Cruise Line, August 4, 2009.
This was taken with a Pentax Optio A40, 1/319 exposure, 23.7mm focal length, original is 4000x3000 pixels.

I was in Alaska from 8/2 until 8/13, and took roughly 1200 photos on the K20D, and about 100-150 on the A40, and about 50 videos also on the A40. I could NOT have been more happy with the performance of the Pentax gear in the sub-40-degree weather.
That is a spectacular view, would not mind doing a trip there myself.

An to all "point and shooters" - now we are entering the final days, hurry up with contributions if you have not submitted yet.

Best regards,
Haakan

Couple more...these are chronologically before the first I posted. First one I posted was roughly 5:42PM Alaska Time.

First one is roughly 5:14Pm Alaska time, second is about 5:26PM Alaska time, all 3 same date, 8/4/2009, same camera: Pentax Optio A40.

These two are on the way to view Sawyer Glacier, still in Alaska's Inside Passage.

Hi All,
I have really enjoyed looking at all the contributions, I think they all have shown different "ways" (no pun intended ) of interpreting the theme.

The hard part has been to try to pick a winner. I have even involved my family but we could not agree on a common view, which shows that it is not an easy task.

Anyhow, after flipping images back and forth, here is my very subjective list:

Shared 3rd place:

&

Second place:

And finally my choice for 1st place:

I fell for the colours and the perpective in this image.

And now I am happy to hand over the baton to Andreas

Best regards,
Haakan

I agree - the perspective makes an AMAZING shot of what might otherwise be a normal shot in the eyes of someone else!

Congrats to the winner!
I didn't have anything to submit - until now!
Sadly, the party's over; I know.

Just a pic I took of me 'getting there'.
Taken last weekend with my cellphone camera at 90 kmh. (note the speedometer needle)
Admitedly, not the wisest thing to do but it was a nearly abandoned stretch of roadway in Northern Ontario.
