Point & Shoot Contest #22 - "Ways of Getting There"

Now when vacation is over, it is back to work again. And even though my mind is somewhat absent, I still have to get my body to show up at work, one way or the other. So I thought we could have "Ways of Getting There" as a theme for this round, of course "There" is not only work. The theme could e.g. cover different means of transportation, but also more loose interpretations of the theme would be nice.

I am looking forward to your photos.

Best regards,
Haakan

The rules:
Rules of entry

2. Entries will end on Sunday September 6 20:00 EST. (-5:00 GMT)

Just one image from myself showing an image of a "way of getting there". The path in the picture is actually the only "road" to this small village of Bangaan in the Philippines.

Camera: Panasonic DMC-TZ5.

Looking forward for your contributions.

Best regards,
Haakan

I am happy to finally see an entrant, I was getting scared that the theme I selected was too wierd (it was late in night when wrote the thread)

It is very nice photo. I really like the atmosphere created by the fog.

Best regards
Haakan

Thanks Haakan

Actually I do an early morning walk for exercise and sometimes I take the little pocket camera with me 'just in case'.

Here are my 3 ways:

Way over water.

On the way home.

Way in the sand.

And it's still said that all ways lead to Rome

Sometimes I like to "Get There" by motorcycle. So here's an action shot taken with my Canon S60 while riding (I do not suggest taking pics while riding - it's a bad habit I now try to avoid!) This pic is from somewhere in Oregon.

Of course there are places you can get to that don't have as many trees as I found in Oregon. This is in Death Valley, CA.

How about, the inside passage, heading to, and looking at, Sawyer Glacier in Alaska?
This was aboard the Norwegian Star, Norwegian Cruise Line, August 4, 2009.
This was taken with a Pentax Optio A40, 1/319 exposure, 23.7mm focal length, original is 4000x3000 pixels.

I was in Alaska from 8/2 until 8/13, and took roughly 1200 photos on the K20D, and about 100-150 on the A40, and about 50 videos also on the A40. I could NOT have been more happy with the performance of the Pentax gear in the sub-40-degree weather.
