Optio E50 Question

When I attempt to take a picture, the camera will autofocus but not take the picture. I can squeeze the button down all I want but it takes 2-3 minutes before it snaps the shot. I am a blogger and use my camera frequently. I need some help.

Generally, make sure the camera is in Auto mode, then when you point the camera at any subject, press half way for the camera to focus. Once the autofocus sets in and the picture is in focus, press the button down.

My question to you is that what kind of environment did you take the picture? Is it in low light or darkish environment? If so, that may explain your camera behaviour.
