Point & Shoot Contest #26

This is the 2nd anniversary for the Point & Shoot Contest. Great achievement for a competition some called a bad idea that wouldn't last. We have seen many great images, and expect to see many more. Congratualtions everyone. Thanks to everyone for participating. A special Thanks to Adam & Pentax Forums for relaxing the rules allowing so many non Pentax cameras to participate.

Have been considering the recent questions about which cameras are elligible. Bart did a nice job revising the standards. Agreed with most of the changes. Tweaked a couple for this contest.

It bothers me that rangefinder cameras were disqualified. The 35mm Leica and even smaller rangefinders are one of the roots of Point & shoot photography. Also seems a shame to disqualify one of the greatest point & shoot cameras of all time (and a Pentax no less) because its an slr. The Pentax A110(super) & Minolta 110 film SLRs deserve the chance to compete in this contest.

trying to get more entries. Shoot what you want and enter max of 4 photos.

THE RULES

1. Remember to have fun!

2. No 35mm, APS, or 4/3 SLR/DSLR cameras allowed. 110 film SLRs, 35mm and smaller rangefinder/viewfindercameras are allowed. No medium or large format
cameras allowed.

3. Entries will close on Dec. 27th, midnight CST, USA.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 800x800 pixels.

5. List camera brand, model with entry for all to see.

6. Shoot any thing you want. No theme.

7. Max of 4 photographs per person.

8. Post processing is fine.

9. Winner will set up and judge next contest.

ENTER NOW!
thanks

Also, shoot what you want, as in "any subject matter" correct?

Speaking of rules changes/modifications, how do ya'll feel about limiting the entries to current topic shots? I've got lots of Pre DSLR shots that I like being able to enter, but...I think it would help to keep our PnS skills/creativity juices flowing if we limited the entries like in Pic of the Week or the other challenges.

Thoughts?

Bramela, not sure what you mean about an amendment to the closing date. What have you got in mind? Liked your late entry.

jhe02, you can enter any subject you want. I think themes reduce the number of entries. They may also make it easier to judge the contest (willing to take the extra effort here). To me, themes also become "assignments" which sort of works against the point & shoot concept.

For this anniversary of the point & shoot contest I am trying for maximum participation and # of entries. We may specify an image can only be so old in later contests , but for #26 want to leave it the way it is. Want maximum entries and views.

thanks

I'm trying the new link system from the User Albums so hopefully it'll work.

Olympus Stylus 1010 at a rest stop on I-77 after a rainstorm.

Olympus Stylus 1010 at Oak Island, NC during sunrise photowalk. PP conversion.

Fuji FinePix F700 on a trail on Stone Mountain, NC

Think I'll reserve my 4th shot to see if I get a great one between now and closing.
