Optio fault - will not stay powered-up

I've been happy with my Optio W20 over the period I've had it and it has not received any heavy use or abuse.

Suddenly it stopped powering-up properly.

With a fully charged battery on pressing the on/off switch the blue pentax optio screen appears briefly and then it switches off.

I've tried several different batteries.

Any clues or links to a solution most welcome!

Possible lens jam, where the camera shuts off to protect the mechanism. Check for any error messages.
