If the item they are making the accessories for is not sellable, then their accessories won't be sellable too.
This is also the reason why there are so many third party accessories manufacturer for Canon and Nikon.
You would see a lot of old accessories for Pentax as Pentax was popular then.
This is true for Pentax.

For me, I will look for a small size P&S with 720p video that fits in the pocket of pants. The W90 is definitely on my candidate list, but will also wait until there are more reviews about it. I will also consider W80 or WS80 and some other brands as well.

I am only concern on the pixel density of the W80 and W90. But like I said earlier, I will wait for more reviews before I decide.

Still happy with my W60, I'll wait until they come out with a newer generation of waterproof cameras with better IQ before I change it.

This is a very Good viewpoint, IMO.
For me, I still shoot with my trusty ol' K100D with 1st generation kit lens.
Like GerrL mentioned earlier, "unless I'm going to be happy with the upgrade and plan to use the upgrade for a long time, then there is actually no need for an upgrade". This is so True.

We do not want to purchase the item for the sake of purchasing it.
Neither we wanted to be inflicted with the LBA.
We just want to be happy doing ahat we enjoy doing most, taking pictures with whatever tools we have and compare/discuss them in this forum.

Cheers.

Can you make the W90 drop from 12MP to something lower like 6MP?

Actually I just hit up the Pentax Imaging site and you can put it into the following modes;
Recorded resolutions Still:
12M (4000x3000),
9M (16:9, 4000x2256),
7M (3072x2304),
5.3M (16:9, 3072x1728),
5M (2592x1944),
3.8M (16:9, 2592x1464),
3M (2048x1536),
2.1M (16:9, 1920x1080)

Will you get better image quality in one of those lower settings? Can someone run a test and post the results using a tripod setup if possible of the same scene with the same lighting.
