Imagine what it could do to people's eyes...

I work with lasers everyday in my job, and I can testify that lasers are NOT toys. Even the green laser pointers wan seriously damage your eyes, permanently.

People setting up stages for shows, raves, and other similar events know squat about lasers and lasers safety. Even though every laser sold in the world has a sticker saying how dangerous it is, how it should be used, etc.

Lasers can damage the sensor, that's one thing. They can also burn particles on the surface of the sensor. When that happens, nothing can be done, the energy released permanently damages the surface.

That happened to me once in the lab with a 250$ mirror (to steer the laser beam). There was a dust particle on the mirror, the laser zapped it, and the whole mirror went bananas. Nothing to be done, order a new one...

Wow good to know. Why not going to events like this, there are probably some good pictures to make.
