The A33 is 14 MP...as far as IS I'm not sure, haven't tried the Sony. I'd say, try the Pentax first, see how you like the video. You won't be disappointed in the image quality department.

No - The K-x records 24P. It's possible to convert that during editing for playback at 30P, but there is no 30P recording option.

What conditions result in a "jello" effect?

I don't have a vDSLR, but as I understand it, the wobble is producedby a combination of long lens focal length, and fast panning. But I am not sure what the thresholds are where it becomes a problem, e.g. can you whip around recklessly at 55mm? At 40mm? At 28mm?

The "jello" effect, as far as I understand, is due to the sensor data readout. CCD sensors read the data at once on the whole sensor, CMOS sensors start from the top left and ends at the bottom right. If the camera is held still, the effect is not noticeable. When panning from left to right or right to left, it's more apparent. I believe the faster fps the video supports, the less noticeable is the "wobble".

Nice video and pretty sick zoom.
Here are two clips I shot on friday at full zoom handheld that can't be done on a DSLR.

DSLRs are not as practical for long zoom video, however they can serve as decent video cameras for every-day clips. I specifically love the shallow DOF you can achieve with some fast lenses.

well I went ahead and got a Pentax with the starting lens, and then a 50 A F/1.7 lens (it was like 50) cause I wont be doing much zoom (for now) and the price difrence for the the 300mm was almost 200USD and there are plenty of 200 or 300mm lenses out there for around that anyway.

I just hope I can find the correct settings to reduce the wobble I saw someone talk about It somewhere on youtube about setting something up first....

err anyone know what am talking about?

Tripod maybe. As long as you keep the panning speed under control, you should be ok.
The A1.7 is a great lens BTW. Keep us posted about how things are going with your K-x.
