Dramatic re-focus

I know the K-5 doesn't AF in video, but looking at this video from falk and some of the video where they demonstrate Nikon's AF during video gave me a thought for a focusing effect that might not be too hard to do.

Before you start recording plug in two focal points and have the AF focus on them and plot out a smooth transition from FP 1 to FP 2 then execute that transition when recording. Trying to do it on the fly either algorithmically like the nikon does or manually like we do is easy to overshoot or not be smooth. This is a dramatic effect especially with a shallow depth of field and I think it would be cool if you could setup a shot and have the camera help you out.
