My first try at time laps photography

OK, I know the subject is boring, but I didn't want to put much effort into it if I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted. Now that I've got a basic idea on doing it, I'll have to try to find a more interesting subject.

To me, it looks as if the OP took away 23 frames out of the 24 fps.

Edit: Was the original video about 5 minutes long?

Whoops! K7, 30fps. Maybe the OP reduced the framerate from 30fps to maybe, 4fps?

Well I don't think I did it the way your thinking. I didn't actually do this as a video. I just took a bunch of pictures & combined them using Nero 8.0 It took me a bit to figure out how to do that. I just set the camera on my Tripod & set the camera to take a picture every 30 seconds.

Looks nice. Well K-7 and 1080p, it has to be picture and not video. Did you cut every frame to the HD?

To be honest, I don't know. I shot using the lowest res JPG, and just imported them into Nero, and exported the video selecting MPG4. I tried AVI, but resolution was small, and it has LOTS of artifacts. I think it was due to crappy compression, but can't say for sure.

Thanks for the comment.

Okay, you let Nero do the work. I'm planning a think like you did, just a longer timelaps, al-in-al 3 weeks, but the first 2 days with a lot of frames.

The biggest problem that I had, was the fact that the K7 can only do a max of 99 frames. I got lucky and happened to be at the camera when it hit 99, so my one frame may be off by 15-30 seconds. I heard you can get remotes you can program, but looked on ebay, but didn't have much luck finding anything cheap enough.

Yes with K-5 it is 999, so that should help me trough a night of sleep.

999 is a large improvement, that's for sure. I'd like to track down some sort of remote shutter release that can be programmed to do more frames. Something to keep an eye open for, that's for sure.

Just to repeat this lost entry of a way to make time-laps. I don't have this software, but still good to see.

You can buy an relatively inexpensive remote timer control for the K-7 that will let you shoot time lapse for a long time.
