I just started interested in time lapse video after seeing some really cool videos taken on a K-5 by darwinfish105 on YouTube. March 26 was Earth Hour, so I decided to drive out to the Golden Gate bridge and attempt a time lapse video since I'd have an hour to kill. I had to use my 5DmkII because I didn't have a wide enough lens on the K-5 anymore. I REALLY wish I could have used my K-5 for this shoot, as it is easy to use the built-in intervalometer instead of the external intervalometer I had to buy for the 5D; I ended up losing a bit of the beginning, especially when the bridge actually went dark, because I couldn't work the darn remote intervalometer.

That time lapse was around 250 frames; the intervalometer was configured for 10 second intervals between exposures. Prior to converting the stills to video, I did a quick white balance to sync up all the frames. Creating an editable video from the image sequence was quite fast through Quicktime. Because I only had around 250 frames to work with, I used a plugin called Twixtor to slow down the playback speed to 50% in order to lengthen the playback; this required interpolating frames, which consumes a lot of CPU power, so this was the slowest part of the process. All in all, I spent around 4 hours editing the piece together and rendering.

I see some haloing on the first clip. Did you perform tone mapping (HDR) on the first two clips?
