We got word from Ricoh Imaging USA that there is no RAW video. It was a typo. Alas.
I can live with that...
unfortunate that they didn't keep the uncompressed avi next to H264. I understand that is only for interval...
But i can live with that too.

Now, a real question to me is the SR. is it digital as in k01 for video or mechanical?
Anyone that knows?

I don't think they will make the same mistake as they did with the K30. I would be sure that it's mechanical, I would bet on that.

The question is: how compressed h264 video would be??

well, I'd make the bet. I saw a menu somewhere on the net and it said "movieSR". pretty sure it will be digital. one can only hope the implementation is done properly

Yup there's no raw video. I think that spec was referring to raw for stills.

The d800 is the cheapest dslr camera with raw video, I think.

the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema for $995 USD is the least expensive "out of the box" RAW video camera. the other DSLR require hacks

Blackmagic Design: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera

shoots a lossless 13 stop DR CinemaDNG RAW codec onto SDXC and SDHC cards. 1920x1080 up to 30p

it is a super 16 sensor and not a SLR, but once a SLR is in live view its not a SLR any more. Some of us had hopes that Ricoh pulled a fast one on everybody and made the K3 APSC with RAW "out of the box"....... better luck next time

We'll see soon enough, very interested in seeing actual production model/firmware examples. I noticed most sites selling the K3 have changed from 24MP to 23.3MP so I'm sure other little tweaks of info will change one they get all the info correct.
