Compilation video

I got bored this weekend & the weather was not really inviting to go out.
So i decided to make a compilation video of some nice shots with the K3.

Showreels seem to be hot at the moment on vimeo. guess everyone likes to make one after yearend :-)
I used filmconvert to grade it in different ways.
Personally quite pleased with the results.. Shame that vimeo compression brings it down a bit.
But anyhow.. For those interested...

Sweet.
Nice coloring/aesthetic.
Great stuff.

Oh wait...it's a Pentax K3 with video...impossible, right?
I guess you (and me) didn't get the memo!

Ha!,... you K-3 people with your 'best prosumer' camera awards,... My K-01 and I waft smelly things in your general direction!

Video's not too bad either

I like it. Especially your grading. It also has a nice, natural look to it, very Pentax. IMHO the handheld stuff is a bit shaky, with some micro jitter going on. The K-3 really is a camera that belongs on a tripod or slider, IMHO.

It's really sad to see Pentax go so downhill on their stabilisation during video.
Agree this means stabilisation has to now be external to the device, as the movie SR will ruin your footage in a non recoverable way.

I had high hopes of a firmware update that would offer at least an option to select mechanical or software stabilisation choices, but it's never come.
That listening to your customers/after sales support just doesn't seem to be there for older models unfortunately.

So much for the supposed 'firmware updates for all models every six months,... Last update was what, a year ago?

They aren't listening to user feedback as far as new models are concerned either. Or does the K-S2 have proper SR? And the firmware updates usually only fix bugs or add support for new Pentax gear.

Btw. I watched Birdman yesterday, and I had the feeling they used movie SR during one of the outdoor scenes on the roof/balcony where Emma Stone and Edward Norton are talking... not sure though. Was rather subtle. Also that part of the shots looked a bit like video, unlike most of the rest of the movie. Hm.

Haha, no. It would look even worse then. But stabilized in post.
