Music Video completed with Takumar lenses

Hi all

The other day I met a cinematographer interested in my Takumar collection. He grabbed my ST 24/3.5, SMC 35/2, Auto-Tak 35/2.3, ST 50/1.4 (eight element) and Tak 50/4 (1:1) and made a music video exclusively with these lenses (nothing else). A mix of cameras where used Sony 7s and Black Magic.

here is the link

He loved the finish so much he bought the ST 50/1.4 (eight element) and we are negotiating on the ST24/3.5. But, he could not extract the Auto-Tak 35/2.3 from me ..... he really wanted that lens!

Goes to show that these old lenses can be of immense use in todays digital age.

So none of this is related to Pentax HDSLRs?

I was in a quandary as to how to share this video. Have you a better place to put it knowing the 'cameras used' are not Pentax?

No wonder these lenses are still on high demand - their quality and rendering really comes through with a video like this. I especially enjoyed the warm subtle and sharp rendering in low light - comes probably from that amazing ST 50 1.4 8-elements.
Great work indeed!

Yes manntax, but, I think the cinematographer was actually more impressed with the Auto-Tak 35/2.3 - when I say he really liked this lens I mean really liked it. He asked probably three times to buy knowing the answer already (no). I did however help him acquire one but he paid what they are worth (about US$300).

Personally I'd have posted in the 'Non-Pentax Cameras: Canon, Nikon, etc.' ..

Thanks for the heads up. I'll go there next time (if there is one).

I'd have posted it here in ' "Video" & Pentax DSLRs ' too, as it's a video made with Pentax Lenses.
If one wants to be antsy about it, the subsection would need to exclude anything shot on Q's and K-01,.... And you could imagine my reaction to that

Looks like he loved the glass as much as I love my SMC-M and SMC-A lenses on those cameras. They have a completely different look to current glass, and yet are still capable of resolving a 4K image.
I too know a couple of guys who want to borrow my collection now and then - they know there's no way I'm giving up a colour-matched set of primes
