Time Lapse Maths - Need a quick answer

Quick question for a quick answer.

Will 4 hours of interval shots at 1080HD fit on a 16GB card when shot at 15 sec intervals? Will a fully charged battery go the distance? Being done on a K-3ii.

Thanks.

960 shots. Does your battery usually last for 1,000 shots?

No idea. I haven't done much in the way of video 'til now. How many MB in a single 1080HD frame?

interval <> video, unless there's a video interval mode I'm unaware of.

Sorry. Geek. <> means does not equal in some programming languages.

There is a video interval mode on the K-3ii.

A RAW Bayer array frame is 3.11MB.
3.11MB x 240min x 4 shots/min = 2985.6MB or approximately 3GB. Even with the extra overhead of DNG, you would have plenty of room shooting RAW at 1080p resolution. If you were shooting jpeg, these numbers would of course be even lower.
However, it might be worth your while to shoot full sized jpeg so you can do software pans, zooms, etc to your compiled video. 24MP jpg files out of camera will vary in size based on the content, but typically run around 3MB each, so the numbers would be pretty close to those for 1080 RAW frames.
Excellent. Just in the nick of time too, thanks for the assistance.

Righto, job's done, looks awesome.

For info, I shot an interval of 20sec in HD mode (1280x720) for approximately an hour. The video generated in AVI format by the K-3ii was 163MB and 33sec in duration. Frame rate for playback is 24 frames per sec.

Battery is still showing full bars.

The maths doesn't tally for me here, but the parameters are as I've spelled out. The time lapse only ran for an hour despite the fps and clip duration suggesting otherwise.

Ohhh you mean it takes stills and presents them as video. I was thinkingsometingvthat would take an X second clip every y moments and leave you with hundreds of video files. This sounds much more useful

That's it. It's does a great job too. If the K-3ii does it, the K-3 probably does too. Select movie mode and then hit the capture mode button.
