Lauren's Pentax Video Setups

Ok, since I seem to be talking/spitting into the wind when it comes to Pentax and video, I decided to show everyone some of the setups I have used with my Pentax cameras.

From this demo reel -

These are some snapshots of what it took to get there.

Great video Lauren! Good IQ, I see nothing wrong with it. I suspect most people complaining also don't have the skills you have to create good video. Also that is a lot of K-3s and 16-50s...

Thanks!

The K3 is a workhorse...It sits alongside my drones, GoPros, Osmo and Sony FS7.
In an instant I can shoot stills or video.
I use the same Pentax lenses on my FS7 (with an adapter) without any issue whatsoever.

Pentax - works. Simple.

Nah..it's just that it gets a bit frustrating when people say things like "can't be done".
Or Pentax is not used in so and so way.
Or Pentaxians don't care about so and so.

I don't fit the demographic that Ricoh is looking for, when they ask Pentaxians questions.
It doesn't phase me as long as they keep making tools that make money for me.

I'm a bona-fide-hardcore user of Pentax products.

People discount me all the time. It's the story of my life.

Based on Lauren's previous communications on the subject, I don't believe she uses it or feels a need to.

Doh!

I *was* going to shoot that...but then I saw an Otter.

I did this instead.

Will this suffice?

I suppose...if a Pentaxian needs that SR...then I won't discount their *need* for it.
I don't worry about SR because rarely is my camera not on "something".

Here is a video where I had the K3 on my shoulder rig.
I shot this on the floor of the convention center.
No SR.

Thanks for clearing that up Lauren. Great footage for handheld. Video isnt usually my "thing" but, its great to see people creating such wonderful quality footage with Pentax gear.

Thank you!
A tool is only as good as the craft behind it.
nuth'n wrong with Pentax if you understand the tool.

Impressive setup Lauren! I knew there was a reason why the editors at my workplace like the output out of my K-3. (They don't get to see it that very often though.) When you know the limitations of the camera and use the strong points to your advantage it is entirely possible to create some very nice and useful footage.
