Da, camcorder suits your needs better.
For the sort of event you describe, DSLR/MILC's would be okay, if you had at least two and two operators.

Single handed, with no one looking after the camera (which is why you need the mirror), a decent camcorder or a GoPro would be your best choice - many newer camcorders come with the streaming functionality built in, Sony and JVC ones come to mind.

As others have suggested, spending wisely on good audio capture will be of more importance for this style of presentation - viewers will put up with boring or substandard visuals IF the audio is easy to listen to and engaging.
