Lens correction program for windows XP, for movies?

For later OS there is PRODAD DEFISHR but I can’t find any program which is older than that.

But there must be stuff “out there” because this is such a common requirement… wide angle lenses do distort.

Ideally I would like a Vegas 11 plug-in but I am fairly sure that was never done. There is a filter in Vegas which can do correction but it is a bodge and not a proper barrel distortion corrector. It does a sort of trapezoidal correction which is "OK" provided the camera doesn't tilt...

I run XP for specific reasons to do with software which needs it, and a VM is not a solution.

Many thanks for any pointers.

Have you tried avisynth?

Avidemux is another good free video PP program, but it doesn't have distortion correction.

I have not tried avisynth but all the products I find needs either a later OS or winXP 64-bit.

Boris FX and Prodad Mercalli are two such examples.

This
DeBarrel AviSynth Plugin
might do it, but is there a tutorial anywhere? I am happy with command line stuff but I have only the command mode in winXP; no DOS6.22 machines for many years And no unix.

Hate to say it but it might be getting time to upgrade your OS. I have found that finding apps for unsupported OS's becomes increasingly challenging as time passes.
