Yep, the 18-50 WR RE kit lenses use the DC motor (silent auto focus).
If you're looking at the 18-50 kit lenses, I might suggest the 18-135 for the extra reach. I was using the 18-50 and was very happy when I upgraded to the 18-135 (but I don't use video at all).
One thing to consider would be lighting for sure, these lenses have average apertures (not fast) so you'll either have to have a well lit studio or up your ISO game.

Edit: I know that some people like to 'de-click' the aperture ring on some older lenses to use variable aperture without hearing the noisy clicks!
