Cinematographer hat on, if the AF is slow but super smooth and hits the mark without hunting, that is FAR better for video and film production then something super snappy that looks jerky.
Kinda more and more annoyed, that they get some feature very right, and then screw up the basics, like the missing frame rates, the futzed HDMI that all K3's and K-1's have had, and waaay too low data rate.

I agree, I think that it's really well set up for a cinematographer style approach. What missing frame rates were you looking for?

Soon I'll be able to spend 4 hours outside, so I'll set up a video test with the tripod and the external microphone (Rode Stereovideomic).
I'm not expert, but I suppose that requiered framerates are 25 & 50 fps(and I do recon that it is a wee a bit of a problem too, althou not the end of the world. Many seem to like to shoot 50 fps and it is nice, perhaps more so than 60. Also PAL frequency need 25 instead of 24.)

for HDMI, it can be both, the size, but also no clean HDMI out. To me the latter is not really a big problem unless your workflow need that.

Datarate...yeah, now it is much better actually, but 100-150 instead of approx 70-90 is not enough. that said, 4K 4.2.0 8bit what you get out of K-3III does not really need much higher rates.

I'v been shooting with K-3III now and been using gimbal as well as Trpod with nice videohead and also handheld. I have to say that in order to get best out of it to eliminate jitter and jello, you really want tripod and gimbal or some sort of shoulder rig. I did try extra handle so that I could use that and handle what I have on K-3III already and it did improve the quality and SR could actually cope in that condition. I'm going to explore more with that ,since handheld shots do have something that tripod and gimbal shots dont have.

Yeah, that AF-C with 16-50PLM would be in need with two handle and gimbal work. (looking good for me for this autumn, so I'll get that update in few months...)

The 30 fps is actually NTSC 29.97. Yes, 25 as PAL framerate would be nice, but for some reason Pentax forgot about the parts of the world that use PAL.

Yeah,

Yes, 24 FPS can only be found in 'real' video/cinema camera.

For me that is not a big deal. Framerates of 24,30 for 4K and 24, 30 and 60 for FHD does imply that it is not men for 'professional' video, as well as many other things. That said, PAL is not anymore as big of a deal. Many still shoot 24 FPS. or 30 FPS if they want to shoot project with slowmo and get that higher 60 FPS(or higher). Also it is nice for fast action, like what I have used my K-3III when it is on gimbal.
