Old lenses in video?

It is possible to use old M lenses in Video?
I try it and the screen is black....
I've already put aperture ring permition, it works only for photos, without live view.
I suppose it can't meter with manual M or K lenses
Anyone with success?

Thanks!

Oh yes! It definetely works with M or K lenses. I use the K50 1.2 with the K-7 and already had other K/M lenses that did work properly.

Furthermore, the K-7 uses some kind of new aperture control in video.
I can adjust the aperture on the K50 with the aperture ring, exposure is adjusted automaticely.

What kind of black screen,
the same black screen that appears, if you switch the aperture ring of an auto-focus lens from it's A-Position?

Edit:
Well, that screen has the hint "Press LV Button!"

Must be another black screen.

Well, the only Menu setting enabled is C.38 - 2 [Aperture ring permition] - as you have it, too...

Strange think happens when lock exposure (AE-L) with M lenses

With old M lenses, when I lock the exposure with AE-L, and then press the shutter to start recording, the image becomes very bright, over exposing complitely.
Anyone with this problem?
Why it happens?

Thanks!

Same with me...

I guess there might be just no proper AE-L with K/M Lenses.

I therefore first start to recording then adjust the exposure and aperture as needed and then I'm able to use AE-L.

AE-L should work with any K mount lens. BTW AE-L is indicated on the LCD with an * on the top left next to the movie icon.

Edited my post about AE-L. No proper AE-L with K/M Lenses.

If you press the AE-L button and then start to recording, the K-7 overexposes as NunoBarbosa explained...

Didn't you notice any of that?

Yes, AE-L locks fine, but after start recording...really strange we have to do that way.

Let's dream about full manual controls in a future firmware.

From my quick experiment last night, the v1.02 firmware version solved this overexposure issue...
It's still visible on the rear LCD in Live view when starting a movie, but the camera doesn't record these frames anymore...

I update to 1.02 and the problem still there...
