Wow. Make sure you download the AVI. Looks really clean for pure night footage.
I see the 2:27 720p AVI video is only 98mb, my 475mb M-JPEG AVI Vimeo videos are now only 21mb MP4 Quicktime files.

This video was compressed with divX for Vimeo and then vimeo compressed it some more. Not sure what the max size is for vimeo but you should always upload your best quality.

500 megabytes is their max, mp4 is probably the best encoding to use for their site, they have a guidelines section if you're not sure what to use. The original file only stays up for a week

Not my video, but I did not realise the cross processing filter could be applied to video

That looks very cool. The only thing about the cross processing, I wish you could select the exact effect.

Some well produced K-x videos here by Scott Naut:

inc:
My Love is Digital:

and his first K-x test video, I believe:
Goodnight Margaret

Hard to 100% confirm they are K-x videos but they are tagged as such on Youtube and on his blog:

Another recent K-x video goodie from Youtube:

And So I Watch You From Afar - Set Guitars To Kill (live in Warsaw)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku9VAZoAr6w

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku9VAZoAr6w[/yt]

captures the live band gig experience well.

It's edited simply but effectively. The audio works out fine, but I wonder how that was achieved. The ISO it was recorded at must have been really high most of the time too, but you don't notice that as an issue with this sort of event.

I've also enjoyed watching some of these Korean Salsa dancers recently recorded with the K-x. They are fun to watch and the camera does a servicable job in capturing these events:

Thanksgiving 09

A recently added YouTube video:

Thanksgiving O9:
5mins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAJyyNxYzAY

[YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAJyyNxYzAY[/YT]

A good example of the K-x documenting a family gathering.

The guy does a good job with focus and lighting, seemingly without too much trouble at all.

Hi, I really enjoyed shooting video of my family between taking pictures. the FA50 1.4 made things look soo good and it was easy to focus (the live display on the back would "antialias" a bit when in focus, that and with the depth of field so small it was easy to tell where it was).

Focusing to infinity in the dark and/or complex area's was the most difficult thing about shooting with the k-x. that and remembering to properly set the white balance

oh and with my new eneloops i had no battery problems what so ever. i bought three packs of 4 and only used two packs for the whole trip. 50+ min of recording + lots of pictures and a ton of messing around with settings n junk. i do love this little cam

Welcome to Pentax Forums, pesterance.

Some people have commented about being unable to achieve focus using LiveView, esp under not-great light. Aside from it also simply being a charming well-put together little video, I thought your video was a good illustration of what could be achieved by the K-x under those circumstances by someone who probably wasn't a video pro. You had focus and depth of field pretty well nailed in your video.

Of course, we don't know how much footage ended up on the cutting room floor , but either way the end result was pretty tight.

Good to hear about the eneloops too. Video and LV can be real power hogs, so 50+ mnutes of video (and more) out of two packs is impressive.
