Pentax K-7 and Final Cut Express

Is the video from the Pentax K-7 optimal for direct ingestion into FCE, or is there any advantages by converting it to an uncrompressed format?

Kind regards

Sure I'd bring it straight into FCE if I were you (it's 1280x720 right?), but you may want to convert to a lossless codec if you're sending the output from FCE to another program before your final output. Now if FCE isn't your first stop then yes, you may want to go from your first program, say Photoshop or whatever, to FCE via a lossless codec. The trouble comes when you start taking your video from program to program and use lossy formats along the way; eventually the quality suffers.

I've been using FCP with the K7 and haven't had any problems. Looking forward to seeing some of your work
